Volvo has been committed to electrified mobility for years. Its plug-in hybrid models and the compact all-electric EX30 have already earned praise for their enjoyable driving experience and impressive range. Now, Volvo is taking things a step further with the arrival of the all-new EX60, a five-passenger SUV that marks the Swedish automaker's first entry into this segment. To give you an early look, here are six key things to know about it.
Natural Resources Canada has confirmed an official driving range of up to 531 km for models equipped with 20- and 21-inch wheels, exceeding the 514 km originally announced by Volvo. Versions fitted with 22-inch wheels offer an estimated range of 502 km, outperforming many family SUVs on the market.
The EX60 introduces Volvo's first-ever 800-volt charging architecture. Thanks to its 95 kWh battery, the vehicle can charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 18 minutes using a compatible DC fast charger. In other words, your SUV could be ready to hit the road again before you've even finished your lunch.
In Canada, the EX60 is available in two trim levels: Plus, starting at $77,500, and Ultra, starting at $84,000 (before freight, fees, and taxes). Both versions feature a dual-motor powertrain with standard all-wheel drive. Producing 503 horsepower, the EX60 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.6 seconds, delivering plenty of excitement behind the wheel.
The EX60 is built on Volvo's new SPA3 electrical architecture, paired with the advanced HuginCore computing system. Together, they provide faster responsiveness, easier software updates, enhanced onboard intelligence, and improved energy efficiency. Combined with innovative manufacturing techniques, including megacasting and newly developed electric motors, the EX60 is engineered for outstanding performance.
Inside, the EX60 features Google built-in with the Gemini AI assistant, a large central touchscreen, a fully digital driver display, and seamless connectivity, including Apple CarPlay. Advanced voice controls make it easy to access key functions, all within a clean, minimalist cabin inspired by Scandinavian design.
With an impressive drag coefficient of just 0.26, the EX60's aerodynamic profile helps maximize driving range, much like the streamlined design of an aircraft. Its sleek, modern silhouette also reflects Volvo's latest electric vehicle design language, creating a distinctive and elegant presence on the road.
The Volvo EX60 has not yet arrived in dealerships, but we'll keep you informed as soon as it arrives at ALBI Volvo. Stay tuned for more updates!
